Ontario mining claims map

Every active mineral claim in Ontario on one map, with its holder, its dates and what it owes. Track the ground you care about and get an email when anything changes.

How claims stay in good standing

A mining claim is kept alive one year at a time by assessment work or a payment by its due date. Work beyond the requirement is banked as reserve and can be distributed to the claim in later years.

When lapsed ground reopens

A claim forfeits at 12:00 AM on the day after its due date, and its cells reopen for staking at 10:00 AM Toronto time three days after the due date.
