Newfoundland and Labrador mineral licences map

Every active mineral licence in Newfoundland and Labrador on one map, with its holder, its dates and what it owes. Track the ground you care about and get an email when anything changes.

How licences stay in good standing

A mineral licence is held for a five-year term and can be renewed. Each year the holder must spend a set amount on assessment work per claim, and the work report is due 60 days after the licence's anniversary date. Excess work carries forward as credit for up to 10 years.

When lapsed ground reopens

When a licence is cancelled, its ground is published in the Newfoundland and Labrador Gazette with an opening date. It opens for staking at 9:00 AM Newfoundland time on that date.
